“Training of youth leaders in Ciudad Bolívar, promoters of community transformation''

BRIEF SUMMARY: The aim of this project was to strengthen personal skills of youth by fostering the aspects and applications of working in a group. A number of young people with high leadership skills and were trained in sport and art activities. The soccer field within the center Juan Bosco Obrero , located in the densely populated and hilly slum area of Ciudad Bolívar was repaired and the boundary walls that surrounded the grounds were reinforced, preventing grave erosion. Expatriate personnel from Sport Network organized several workshops with former young combatants de-mobilized from the rebel ranks in order to heal the wounds of the conflict with traditional cultural methods through the use of word and human contact. Activities included the organization of various sports competitions, as well as starting up a tennis school.
