BRIEF SUMMARY: The youth living in Kakuma Refugee Camp needed some particular attention. The primary goal of the project was to enhance peaceful conflict resolution by using activities to bolster the inter-cultural co-existence of individuals and groups from different nationalities, particularly Somali, Sudanese, and Kenyan during the refugees stay in the camp prior to their eventual return to their countries of origin. In this project, Sport Network set up a sustainable infrastructure for recreation, education and sport that allowed for better use of leisure time, academic support, and sport experiences for those within the camp.
STATE: Completed in 2008.
