BRIEF SUMMARY: Project began in 2007. The project focus is on the promotion of young women through gender equality programs, targeting the female population of Southern Mozambique where important gender inequalities prevent their personal development. Our project provides sports facilities in a new center for vulnerable girls suffering from lack of parents, abuse, and violence. We are building a multipurpose sports facility which will house three soccer fields and a dormitory where forty girls between 12 -16 years old will reside during the academic year. The staff of Sport Network and our local partner have also begun a program to train these young women as sport program leaders.
