BRIEF SUMMARY: This Project is located in the South East of the country (Mwalini district). Ever since the time of its independence in 1960, the Democratic Republic of Congo has suffered from a chronic socio-political instability and a string of conflicts. Our project consists of the building of an elementary school that will also be used as an adult literacy center, a multipurpose hall, sports facilities, two boreholes, latrines and showers The project has a holistic focus, and it clearly fosters the education of youth and adults. At the same time, it tackles basic health problems through preventive hygiene. During 2007 and 2008, a number of volunteers and staff from Sport Network have been supporting this work in the field with our local partner.
